BY-LAW XVII - LOCAL CHAPTER ORDINANCES


ORDINANCE 1 – Title:
This Chapter shall be know as Southwestern Graduate Chapter, hereinafter referred to as the Chapter, according to the Charter granted by Alpha Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Incorporated, hereinafter referred to as the Fraternity, under the date of October 18, 1969.

ORDINANCE 2 – Membership:
No additions to By-law II.

ORDINANCE 3 – Election of Members:
No additions to By-law III.

ORDINANCE 4 – Officers and Order of Election:
The officers of the Chapter and the order of their election shall be: Regent, Vice Regent, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian/Webmaster.

ORDINANCE 5 -- Qualifications, Election and Installation of Officers
     Section 1. A call for election of officers may be made by any three (3) members in good standing of the Chapter. Said call will be voted on at that meeting. The call for elections may not be made more frequently than every 12 months and should occur at least every 24 months.
     Section 2. Nominations for officers may occur anytime after the call for election of officers has been approved.
     Section 3. Election of officers must occur at the next scheduled meeting of the Chapter. Said meeting must be at least 14 calendar days and no more than 30 calendar days from the approved call for elections.
     Section 4. In the event of a vacancy, the Regent appoints a replacement, whom must be approved by the Chapter at the next meeting or via e-mail ballots.
ORDINANCE 6 – Duties of Officers:
No additions to By-law VI.

ORDINANCE 7 – Committees and their Duties:
No additions to By-law VII.

ORDINANCE 8 – Records:
No additions to By-law VIII.

ORDINANCE 9 – Unethical Conduct:
No additions to By-law IX.

ORDINANCE 10 – Meetings:
Regular meetings of the Chapter shall be held once per calendar year at a date, place and time specified by the Executive Committee. Additional meetings may be scheduled if deemed necessary by the Chapter Executive Committee or at the request of five (5) members in good standing.

ORDINANCE 11 – Dues:
Each member shall pay annual chapter dues of $20 (twenty) U.S. dollars.

ORDINANCE 12 – Secrecy:
No additions to By-law XII.

ORDINANCE 13 – Ritual of Initiation:
No additions to By-law XIII.

ORDINANCE 14 – Quorum:
The number of brothers required for quorum will be 1/5 of brothers in good standing within a 150 mile radius of Oklahoma City, OK.

ORDINANCE 15 – Parliamentary Procedures:
No additions to By-law XV.

ORDINANCE 16 – Amendments:
No additions to By-law XVI.
